Mayor's Corner

Mayor’s corner by Greg “Porp” Rogers

In my last article I mentioned a joint town and village effort to apply for a SWIM NY grant. We unfortunately were not chosen at this time, but we fully expect to reapply next year.

As Summer has past, I would like to thank the lawn and garden club for the fantastic job they did on the flowers on Main St and creekbank. This year was by far the best year ever. THANK YOU for the great efforts. On this topic you may have been asked to sign a petition to keep the corner of 5 and 19 green space. The board currently has no intensions to change this. We believe this area is being used in the proper manner, it projects a beautiful spot in the center of town throughout all seasons and we see no reason to change that.

This Summer the DPW resurfaced Munson, Erie and Myrtle streets.  While they look great, they may want you to go a little faster. Our police department is patrolling and doing radar on these streets to slow you down. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya.

Before you know it, it will be leaf season, this is a friendly reminded to keep the leaves on the terrace.

“Those who say it can’t be done, should not get in the way of those doing it”
