Mayor’s Corner by Greg “Porp” Rogers
Please use extreme caution when going down South Street as there is a huge bump, caused by a water main break. To date we have had 12 in the village, all making a mess out of our roads. Bob Lathan Jr. has met with Monroe County Water Authority and they plan on coming in next week, assessing the damage and come up with a plan to fix all these areas.
We have also reached out to State DOT to offer help in fixing potholes on Rt 5 & 19. The board felt it necessary to take a proactive approach to fix these as fast as we can. As soon as hot blacktop is available, we will be working on these areas. Thanks for your patience.
Our Police Department has been busy protecting as of late. Officers James Prusak and Logan Filipiak had a lifesaving event with an unresponsive female whom they revived, and Officers Terrez Smith and James Prusak assisted Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy Jenna Ferrando with quick action on a house fire on Lincoln Avenue to save considerable damage.
It seems like we are making some headway on the salt pool upgrade, we may have a surprise too.
Our Annual Organizational Meeting will be on Monday April 7, 2025. This meeting will also have the budget proposal public hearing and begins at 7:00 pm.
