Mayor’s Corner by Greg “Porp” Rogers
It seems like the DPW has most of the leaves up, but we will continue as long as we can. This year we lost a very valuable week from a machine break down from someone putting stuff into a pile that caused it to break. Please in the future just put leaves in the pile. These break downs effect a lot of people and are expensive.
Another project we are looking at is a roof top solar project to offset our electric bill, so far it looks like a 7-year recapture on our investment. With a usefulness period of 25 years, we all know electric is not going down anytime soon.
I would like to Thank All the veterans for their service. We should not just do this on Veteran’s Day but all the time, it means a lot to those who made the sacrifice to serve. I would also encourage the schools to put more focus on patriotism, and bring back some of the pride the country has seemed to lose. There is no place you would rather live “Respect It”.
On Thanksgiving we are all thankful for something, I have many. My family is at the top of the list, but others are living my entire life here in this community, the trust you have put in me to be your mayor for the last dozen years. The board of Bill Kettle, Ray Yacuzzo, Rich Tetrault and Jim Bonacquisti who all do a great job overseeing the daily operations at the Village. Eileen Carmel, Katie Eick and Sharon Jeary for running the Village offices. Greg Kellogg the Chief of Police and his staff who keep us safe. Bob Lathan Jr. and the DPW for the maintaining of the village. Steve Carroll and his staff at the waste water treatment plant who are the best in the business and do much more. THANK YOU!!
Soon we will get our first snow. Please try to keep your sidewalks clear and cars off the street at night. If we work together, we can make it through another winter.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
